We produce and publish experimental works that sit across art, technology, ecology, and material practice. Our ongoing publications include Alternative Reality Gardening and Strange Intelligences Digest.
These projects bring together contributors from different disciplines and ways of working. Each publication creates space for documentation, reflection, practical experiments, and speculative ideas, supporting transdisciplinary learning in accessible, real-world ways.
Alongside our own titles, we also collaborate with artists, researchers, organisations, and communities to develop and produce publications for others — from concept through to editing, design, and delivery.

Strange Intelligences Digest
Strange Intelligences Digest is an ongoing publication that brings together small experiments, field notes, images, recipes, reflections, and hybrid works exploring synthetic, organic and etheric intelligence. It gathers contributions from artists, makers, technologists, researchers, and curious practitioners documenting things made, grown, tested, imagined, and observed.
Across its first two issues, the digest has focused on process rather than finished outcomes, offering a shared space for early-stage exploration and cross-disciplinary exchange. Issue 01 established the publication as a platform for documenting emerging practices at the edges of art, technology, and lived experience. Issue 02 extends this approach through collaborations and material investigations spanning generative tools, biomaterials, and collective making.
Each issue serves as a snapshot of a moment when human curiosity, experimental practice, and evolving technologies intersect. Strange Intelligences Digest is part of the wider Strange Intelligences project and is co-created by Dr Maggie Buxton and Kim Newall.

Alternative Reality Gardening
Alternative Reality Gardening is a digital, and limited edition physical, publication emerging from our Alternative Reality Gardening Symposium and Lab 24 . It formed part of the Awhi Incubator Project.
Thanks to funding from the Ministry of Culture and Heritage’s Innovation Fund, this publication is free to access online.
