Transdisciplinary Threads
Remembering the Sacred in Practice
Transdisciplinary Threads is an international network that brings together diverse perspectives to explore the intricate connections between spirit, people, places, disciplines, culture, the arts, technology, and practice.
We aim to deepen understanding and find creative solutions that respect how different perspectives intertwine.
We’re committed to weaving together ideas and actions that enrich communities, promote sustainable living, and celebrate the sacred in its many forms.
Who is this for?
This is a network for the following people:
Transdisciplinary practitioners who have a multidimensional (including a spiritual or faith-based practice) that respects and actively works to support the spirit of place, environment, planet and ecosystems.
This may include place practitioners, creative place makers, creative technologists, transdisciplinary artists and creatives, transdisciplinary researchers, academics, social change agents and others.
We are interested in people who wish to transcend disciplines not just work in between disciplines or in a multidisciplinary team.
About Transdisciplinary Threads
Founded by Dr Maggie Buxton (AwhiWorld) and Dr Tracey Benson (TreeCreate Studio).
We have been working on several projects together, are members of (and have founded) several different networks, and see a real need for a transdisciplinary peer-practice network that actively supports inclusive, multidimensional viewpoints.
Our respective spiritual practices and values systems are critical to our practice. This includes reverence for the Earth and for the sacred in our practices, as well as a need for accessible, grassroots-based publications, capacity-building events, and projects that make a tangible difference to the people most impacted by issues like AI, climate change, and social disparity.
Transdisciplinary practice should, in our opinion, operate from a critical awareness of self first, as well as interpersonal, organisational and systemic awareness. We are interested in supporting practical projects that build understanding of transdisciplinary in a way that simultaneously makes a change for good on the planet.
