Dr Roy  Davies is an international pioneer of virtual, augmented and mixed reality, beginning in the late 1990s in Sweden with applications for brain injury rehabilitation and participatory design.  He is a multi-full-stack developer specialising in agent-based architectures that support human participation and geospatial intelligence.  As an advisor, Roy is the technologist who helps you grow your confidence and competence in technologies and can help you decide on the most appropriate business methodologies or human-centred design techniques. At the University of Auckland, he is employed as the Smart Digital Lab’s Senior Technician and an Advisor for Master’s students at AcademyEx. He is also a director of his own company Imersia.

Professor Frances Joseph is a designer, maker and researcher at Huri Te Ao/The School of Future Environments at Auckland University of Technology.  She studied visual art at the University of Tasmania, majoring in sculpture, and worked professionally as an artist and designer for puppetry and large-scale public performances. Frances has an MFA from the University of New South Wales and a PhD from Auckland University of Technology. Her research focuses on materiality and tactility and involves e-textiles, bio-materials, fabric structures, sustainability, making with the environment, local production systems and material ecologies. She is the director of the consulting company, Intra-Action Initiatives.
